Commerce is the whole system of an economy that constitutes an environment for business. The system includes legal, Economic, Political, Social, Cultural and Technological systems that are in operation in any country. Thus, commerce is a system or an environment that affects the business prospects of an economy or a nation/state. It can also be defined as a component of business which includes all activities, functions and institutions involved in transfering goods from producers to consumers.
The B. Com. Classes set up in July 2005 in this college, are exploring new frontiers of knowledge and innovation in academics. In the span of almost a decade, it has redefined commerce education in the city of Shahjahanpur. The Department has come to posses the legitimate claim and pride of being a premier educational institute in the discipline of Commerce. Postgraguate program in commerce (M.Com.) is also starting from this session.
Prospects : There are bright career prospects open to commerce students. This is a fact that the maximum number of students who get a good job just after completing their graduation are usually from commerce background. Students can go for a wide variety of careers after completing the B.Com. & M.Com. courses. Some of them off Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS), Law, Cost and Works Accountancy (ICWA), Mass Communication, Civil Services, Hotel Management, Teaching & Research etc. There are many private companies that provide career openings to the commerce graduates. A few of those private sectors are Financial Services, Broking, BPO, Marketing, Insurance, Banking, FMCGS, ITES, etc. They can also appear for the government exams like PSC, SSC, RRB, UPSC etc. to get a job in the public sector. Some of the job prospects in the central government are Grade III Exam, Accounts Assistant, Combined Graduate level exam, Tax assistant, Combined Matric. level etc. They have many career options abroad as well.
