Computer Literacy Programme (CLP)
In the Information Technology age, every field of study calls for various extent of computer knowledge and productivity skills, such as writing, presentation, design, calculation, simulation, analysis and so on. To equip our students with these fundamental IT skills for their study, research and work after graduation, the Gandhi Faiz-E-Aam College Computer Centre sees the need to provide such training besides their formal curriculum.
Computer literacy is not only for the students aspiring to be a computer professional, but it has become must for the survival in each and every field of profession, Now-a-days a person without Computer Literacy is treated as illiterate.
Computer Literacy Programme (CLP) has been organised every year to fulfill the above objectives. CLP is a series of computer short courses organised and repeated throughout each academic year with priorities given to new students. These courses are offered on a voluntary basis and do not carry any credit. The CLP keeps abreast with technology changes and growing rapidly.
Bachelor of Computer Application(B.C.A)., Post Graduate Diploma In Computer application(PGDCA) & Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Programming(PGDCP).
Information Technology or Computer Science is the most emerging branch of Science that requires not only theoretical knowledge from Literature but it requires more hands on practice and to meet out this challenging and competitive environment. It was in the year 2002 when, any regular University Course for computer education was introduced in district Shahjahanpur and since its inception the Department of Computer Science started with the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (Commonly abbreviated as PGDCA) which is an academic degree that is awarded upon completing two semisters (one year) of Masters Level Computer Science subjects. The course aims at providing specialization in Computer Science with technical, professional and communications skills. PGDCA can be pursued after Graduation - that is after Bachlor Degree (Minimum three Years) in any discipline, in order to gain insights of Comuputer Applications. It is also recommended to have basic Computer Science and Computer Programming knowledge for enrolling to the course. PGDCA gives students the career prospects of becoming System Analyst, Software specialist, Training Faculty, EDP Manager and many more. One can use these PG Diplomas with their respective bechlors degree to acquire jobs that require both computer and specific knowledge in the fields of Engineering/ Biology/ Statistics / Chemistry/Business.
Again the department proved its commitment to the people of Shahjahanpur by introducing First Degree Course - Bachelor of Computer Application - B.C.A. in Shahjahanpur district. The department has four well qualified and technically expert teachers devoted to deliver their maximum to the students. The department has five fully air conditioned computer labs equipped with more than 100 branded HP Computer and one Digital Electronic Lab.
