Master's degree in Social Work (Master of Social Work) is designed to teach, train and prepare lieu manpower with scientific techniques, professional acumen, democratic attitude and secular values to manage social work agencies and non social welfare in the country. The goal is to prepare appropriate professionally trained social worker for the socio-economic milieu in the country.
The main objective of the course is to train young men and women in the methods of Social Work. Social Case Work, Social Group Work, Community Work, Social Action, Social Policy, Planning and Administration, Social Work Research and Social Welfare Management.
It is aimed to give intensive field work training through Open Field Work, Agency Based Field Work, Rural / Tribal / Urban Camps and Study Tours.
The goal of this study programme is to train persons who could professionally manage Community Development , Family and Child Welfare and Work in Medical & Psychiatric settings, correctional administration apart from being specialists in social policy formation, Social Work Management and Social Work Research.
Students passing out this course can get a job in Govt/ Private sectors as well as can run own NGOs.
Duration : Two Year (Four Semesters), Intake : 60
Eligibility : Graduation in any discipline with minimum 45% marks in aggregate .(40% for SC/ST students)
Admission Policy : On the basis of merit and interview.
Course Content : The curriculum will be divided into two parts :-
